Architectural Glazing

2010: August 19 and 20, plus a choice of either 21 or 27 August

The course will introduce people to the rich history of glazing in Britain and current issues surrounding its conservation.  We will look at how developments in the manufacture of glass influenced glazing in architecture, as well as a range of historic glazing systems that might be subject to conservation of some form.  Because the method of conservation often depends on the characteristics of the glass, we will hear about from a number of professionals, including Keith Barley of Barley Studios York, about specific projects they have been involved in.  A practical day at the end of the course will give students an insight into the properties of the material, and how what they have learnt is put into practice.

Three-day course fee is £350. Please click here to book online.
