Beyond Burra - Conservation and the Vitruvian Precepts.
James Simpson, (of Simpson & Brown Architects in Edinburgh, one of Scotland's leading architectural practices specialising in conservation) gave the second annual lecture held at the King's Manor, and we are grateful to him for permitting us to add the text of his paper to the website. It may be of interest to compare his views with those of the Burra Charter.
Copies of John Warren's keynote lecture, Conservation of Structure in Historic Buildings, which was published in the July 2004 edition of the Journal of Architectural Conservation, are available from the Department of Archaeology at a cost of £2.00. This lecture was the first of an annual series sponsored by this Alumni Association.
