Wharram Percy deserted village, Beverley Town, and Hull
Wharram Percy is one of the most famous archaeological sites in Britain because of its long-term research excavation which led to the use of open-area excavation and the recovery of evidence for peasant housing. Excavations also took place on one of the manor houses, the church and its burial ground, the 18th-century vicarage and in the surrounding landscape.
At the site and on the journey to and from Wharram Percy you will discover the delights of the chalkland Wolds scenery, though Wharram itself is quite exposed so wrap up warm!
Some web sites about Wharram Percy include:
The official English Heritage page,
A worthy and detailed set of pages by site guide,
and a local set of pages with some useful pictures

Hull is a major port and has been since medieval times. After a period of decline the historic city centre has been greatly regenerated, and there is now a museums quarter with many places of interest.
