Alarm Monitoring & Response

Fire alarms

Security will monitor the University’s fire alarm systems and will respond to assist in:

  • Evacuation
  • First aid
  • Intelligence gathering
  • Fire Brigade access
  • Business continuity
  • Welfare and safety of evacuees
  • Security of the scene
  • Provision of reports

Intruder alarms

Security will undertake security surveys and provide advice on the installation of intruder alarm systems to the University’s specification

Security will monitor the University’s alarm system and respond immediately to alarm activations to;

  • Protect life
  • Prevent crime
  • Protect property
  • Prevent loss or damage

Disabled refuges/lift alarms

Security will respond to all such alarms

Building management systems ( BMS )

Security will monitor the University’s BMS systems and respond to each in accordance with agreed policies and procedures.
