Visa News

UKBA have published a helpful leaflet "Studying in the UK" [opens in a new window, 678Kb].

Information for students who have already been accepted

After you have confirmed your acceptance, you will receive a pre-arrival pack containing detailed information on enrolment at the University of York, accommodation, food, travel, leisure, what you need to bring, orientation activities, mobile phone companies, religion, banking, health and student support.

We recommend you take a look at our information for new students [opens in new window].

Please also note that the UK Border Agency have recently changed the visa application process for students entering the UK. If you are studying for less than six months you will be able to come to UK as a student visitor. If you are staying for more than six months you must follow the instructions for obtaining an adult student visa. For more information please visit the Immigration Advice Services pages on our website.
