Research staff programme

A dedicated programme based around three themes:

Engagement, influence and impact Focusing on interaction with your peers and the public, affecting policy and maximising the influence of outputs
Personal effectiveness Enhancing your ability to motivate, manage and promote yourself in research and your career
Research governance and organisation Including training on data protection, intellectual property, grant writing, ethics and project management

We can support you with:

one-to-one careers advice and guidance
email support and guidance, including CV feedback
career management workshops

Other training opportunities

The general staff training programme covers a broad range of topics from IT skills to change management
Where appropriate research staff can attend workshops from our learning and teaching programmes
Those in leadership roles may benefit from our leadership and management programmes
If you are interested in being coached, you might want to consider the coaching offered by POD

Researcher-led projects

A fund of up to £30,000 is available to research students and early-career researchers to develop and deliver researcher- led projects that will result in either research with impact or resources to support employability.
