The HE Sector is experiencing an unprecedented amount change. Leadership at every level within the institution is critical to help navigate through these changes an ensure we remain a leading University.

Our holistic approach to leadership development ensures that we offer not only structured programmes but on-line support and guidance, via our Human Resources site, performance management guidance and Resource Centre, as well as 1-1 support, networking events and stand alone modules.

Programmes

  • So you want to be a manager?
    This introduction to management is aimed at those individuals who are considering moving into their first supervisory role.
  • Management in Action
    A four module course aimed at first-time, first line managers
  • Leadership in Action
    Targeted at experienced middle or senior managers who manage larger teams and other team leaders.
  • Research leaders
    A condensed version of the Leadership in Action programme with additional research focus workshops. Targeted at experienced research active academics responsible for managing research teams.
  • Strategic leadership
    Targeted at SMG and HoDs of both academic and support departments.
  • Preparing Academic Leaders
    A 1.5 day programme aimed at Senior Lecturer, Reader and Chair appointments within the last 12 months.
  • Collaborative Leadership Programme
    Unlike our other leadership programmes, this focuses on collaborative leadership and is aimed at Academic Management Teams who will engage with the programme together.
