Relocating to York?

Working at York

Getting paid

Salaries are paid on the last working day of the month directly into your bank account. The Payroll Office will send you a form so you can send them your bank details.

Pension scheme membership

University of York pension scheme

Employees in grades 1 to 5 are eligible for membership of the University of York pension scheme. Payroll will send you brief details of the scheme when they request your bank details. More information about the scheme is available on their website. To join, you must opt-in to the scheme.

Universities Superannuation Scheme

Employees in grades 6 and above are eligible for the membership of the Universities Superannuation Scheme. You will be sent details of the scheme upon appointment. You will also be automatically enrolled when you start work at the University. If you wish to opt-out of the scheme you should contact the Payroll Office.
