The Worldwide Universities Network (WUN) is a partnership of research-led universities in Europe, North America, China and Australasia working together to promote research and teaching collaborations beyond the scope of an individual university.
The University of York is proud to be a founder member of WUN.
WUN activities aim to strengthen international research and teaching collaboration. Good use is made of virtual networking tools, as well as conferences and workshops. Many WUN collaborations produce resources for use in teaching, such as access to video-seminars. Academic staff, early stage researchers, and postgraduate students are encouraged to visit other institutions to access expertise and world class facilities.
WUN does not fund research projects directly, but provides 'seed corn' funding to help collaborations become self-sustaining.
Visit the WUN website for more information on all aspects of its activities.
The WUN Cognitive Communications Consortium promises to revolutionise the way wireless communication devices and networks behave.
The WUN Spintronics Consortium believes the impact of spintronics could eventually be comparable to the development of the transistor 50 years ago.
