Worldwide Universities Network

The Worldwide Universities Network (WUN) is a partnership of research-led universities in Europe, North America, China and Australasia working together to promote research and teaching collaborations beyond the scope of an individual university.

The University of York is proud to be a founder member of WUN.

The University of Ghana is the latest institution to join WUN bringing the total number of members to 18.

WUN activities aim to strengthen international research and teaching collaboration. Good use is made of virtual networking tools, as well as conferences and workshops.  Many WUN collaborations produce resources for use in teaching, such as access to video-seminars. Academic staff, early stage researchers, and postgraduate students are encouraged to visit other institutions to access expertise and world class facilities.

York will be leading a delegation at this year's WUN Conference and AGM which will be held at the Chinese University of Hong Kong from the 25th-30th April 2015.

Funding is available to support activities with WUN partners.  This includes the Research Mobility Programme as well as local and central WUN Research Development Funds.

WUN does not fund research projects directly, but provides 'seed corn' funding to help collaborations become self-sustaining.
