World rankings
There are around 30,000 universities worldwide. York is ranked in the top 100 of both the major world rankings - the Times Higher/Thomson Reuters ranking and the QS world rankings. To have accomplished this in less than 50 years is a rare achievement.
York is a member of the World 100 Reputation Network - a group of high ranking universities drawn from around the world.
In the UK, York has consistently appeared in the top 10 of a variety of newspaper league tables in the last 15 years, and we are ranked 8th for research quality, out of over 100 British universities.
