Guide to Assessment

The Guide to Assessment Standards, Marking and Feedback was published in its current format for the academic year 2010/11. Throughout the year it has been updated as various matters have come to light concerning assessment.

The Assistant Registrar: Student Progress in Registry Services is responsible for the updating of the guide throughout the year and producing a fully revised guide at the start of each academic year on-line and in hard copy.

Certain revisions may require approval by the Standing Committee on Assessment and the University Teaching Committee. Once these changes have been approved, Registry Services will circulate a memo to that effect to alert Departments prior to updating the Guide.

The revisions and omissions are noted at the beginning of the guide and included in the appropriate section. Further changes are noted below, and the relevant sections are highlighted within the guide.

We advise you to check the on-line updates when portability means you have to use the hard copy of the Guide.
