Who are YCL?

York Commercial Limited (YCL) is a wholly owned subsidiary company of the University of York. YCL was formed in 2012 with the overall aim to deliver a profitable service and provide essential income to the University. 

There are a number of commercially focused sections which form YCL (also known as Commercial Services by the University):

Attractive place to work

YCL sections are situated throughout the University of York campus, around the picturesque village of Heslington and on the edge of the City of York. 

As the University continued to expand, YCL grew to support the larger campus on both Campus East and Campus West. We have worked hard to retain our friendly atmosphere and believe strongly that work should be an enjoyable place to be.

This may include working with our award winning chefs, who have a background in fine dining up to Michelin Star Level or within the York Campus Nursery alongside the Nursery Manager, who has over 30 years experience of growing a diverse nursery with a low staff turnover.

Affordable On-Site Parking

YCL offers affordable car parking on the University of York campus for staff, which is usually paid by a salary deduction or pay and display tickets. Several options are available to choose from to suit all needs!

If your role requires an enhanced DBS check, within York Sport or York Campus Nursery, YCL will cover the cost of your application.

Some roles may require a uniform to be worn. When this is the case, YCL will provide this for you.
