Requesting a place

To request a stand at one of our fairs, please complete a booking form available via the Interactive Careers Service.

If you hold an account with us already, please log in with the same e-mail address and password that is used for all our employer-only services.

If you are yet to create an online employer account, please visit the Interactive Careers Service. Once you have registered with us you will be able to request a stand and make the most of our employer-only services.

Please note, we monitor the range of employers requesting to attend in order to achieve a well-balanced event. Submission of the form does not guarantee attendance. You will hear from us by email when we have processed and confirmed your booking. There may be a delay between the submission of your request and our response, but you will hear from us by 10 August.

Stand package details

What does the stand package include?

The standard package for each fair costs £450 + VAT and includes:

  • 3m x 2m space (please note that exhibitor space will be allocated randomly)
  • Table and 2 chairs
  • Power supply
  • Refreshments and lunch for two delegates
  • A feature in the fair brochure and on-line
  • Dedicated student support for your stand on the day
  • Direct promotion of the fairs to York students on your behalf.

To increase your profile, you can select the £550 + VAT option, which will also include an A5 advert in the fair brochure.

If you would be interested in the overall sponsorship package or other branding opportunities, such as A4 brochure adverts and logo projections during the event, please mark this on your form.

What happens after you have made your request?

Please note, we monitor the range of employers booking to attend, in order to achieve a well-balanced event. Submission of the booking form does not guarantee attendance. You will hear from us by email when we have processed and confirmed your booking. There may be a delay between the submission of your booking and our response, but all bookings will be responded to by 10 August.

We will contact you to gather your content, company logo and advertisement (if required) for the fair brochure.

In August you will receive an invoice and request for any missing information. Please note our cancellation policy (see the next tab on this page).

Four weeks prior to the fair you will receive full practical information for the day.

We will request your feedback following the event and invite you to join our mailing list.

Careers Service staff will be on hand in the run up to the fairs to respond to any questions you may have. Please contact us by email at careers-fairs@york.ac.uk. We aim to respond to all queries within five working days.

What happens on the day?

The Management & Finance Fair and the Technology Fair will run from 11am - 3pm and the Law Fair will run from 12 noon - 3pm. The space is available for set-up from 8am that morning. Stands should be dismantled by 4pm. Refreshments and lunch are provided for two delegates per stand.

Cancellation policy

Cancellations by the University

The University of York reserves at its sole discretion the right to cancel this and any associated events. In the event of cancellation, the University will refund in full payments it has received in relation to the event. The University expressly excludes any liability for any direct or indirect losses or damages howsoever occurring as a result of such a cancellation and will not, for example, refund any cancellation or other charges imposed by hotels or transport providers.

Cancellations by those booked to attend the event

If the Careers Service receives your cancellation:

Before 30 August you will be refunded in full if a payment has already been made. If you have not made a payment, no liability for payment will exist.

After 30 August, you will not receive a refund for payments made, and will be invoiced for the full cost of your booking if payment had not been received.
