Presentations

Our students are keen to learn more about the vacancies and career prospects offered by your organisation. Employers are welcome to hold evening and daytime events on campus throughout the academic year, but most take place in the Autumn Term ahead of closing dates for applicants.

Our team will organise all aspects of your presentation. We will:

• coordinate dates
• book University venues
• confirm catering arrangements
• order audio visual equipment
• arrange on-line sign up by students if required (although attendance cannot be guaranteed)
• promote your event and raise awareness of your organisation through our marketing package. See the final tab on this page for more details.

We can take bookings from up to two employers per evening, but we will avoid booking companies from the same sector for the same evening.

Employer in residence

If you would like the opportunity to promote your organisation to our students on a day that suits you, we offer exclusive space in our dedicated information resources room. This space can be used to talk to students on a drop-in, informal basis, and also to hold interviews if required.

Our team will organise all aspects of your visit.  We will:

• co-ordinate dates and advise on other bookings 
• book your space: this includes dedicated space for a small pop-up stand in the employer area of the information room, with an additional interview room for private conversations available if required 
• promote your event and raise awareness of your organisation through our marketing package, plus on-campus plasma screen advertising 
• provide tea and coffee to your delegates throughout the day.

The venue

The information resources room is the hub of Careers at York. It houses a suite of PCs and a resources collection, and serves as the base for careers appointments, student volunteering activities and our information desk. It is also promoted across campus as a study space, attracting a wide variety of students.

Exclusive space between 11am and 3pm - £175 + VAT.

Fairs

Recruitment fairs provide an excellent opportunity to network with hundreds of York students on one day. We strive to attract top graduate employers to share details of your organisation and the internship and graduate vacancies you have on offer.

Speaking with representatives from the world of work inspires our students and provides them with the insight and information they need to act on their aspirations.  We want your organisation to be the one that fuels their imagination.

Our autumn recruitment fairs are held in conference facilities on campus, and attract hundreds of York students and recent graduates. 

Autumn Term 2013 dates will be:

• Careers in Finance & Management - 15 October (11am - 3pm)
• Careers in Technology - 16 October (11am - 3pm)
• Careers in Law - 24 October (12 noon - 3pm).

Marketing package

Our standard marketing package includes:

• entry on our interactive careers service events listing (can be accessed by all registered students and graduates)
• subject to time of booking, an event can feature in our 'term ahead' preview e-mail sent to all students registered to receive Careers information
• entry in our fortnightly (in term-time) Careers update newsletter - emailed to up to 14,000 students
• event featured on our Careers Facebook page (3,200 'likes') 24 hours in advance
• event tweeted 24 hours in advance.
