Home>Library>Research and Digital Creativity

The library offers cutting-edge digital labs available to all our members, as well as guidance and services for anyone producing or supporting open research at York.

Our Digital labs

We have two labs in the Fairhurst and both are open to all students and staff to use. The easiest way to remember the difference is that the Creativity Lab focuses on software: high-end gaming workstations, with access to Virtual Reality (VR) equipment and other emerging technologies. YorCreate is all about hardware: a maker-space with 3D printers and other tools.

YorCreate

An exciting new makerspace and digital crafting area, for students, staff and researchers to experiment with 3D design, scanning and printing and other digital creativity tools.

...a fantastic, inspiring intro to VR! Sam is such a knowledgeable and delightful facilitator/teacher! He turned the whole session into a fun and interesting experience.
