Biography

Alexandra Quinones Nunura is a PhD student at the Department of Economics and Related Studies, Health Economics Pathway, University of York. Also, she is a Research Trainee at the Centre for Health Economics, Global Health, University of York.

Alexandra is an economist with many years of experience working for international organizations. She held consulting positions with the World Bank Global Jobs Group (Global labour database project and Resident Statistics Advisor poverty project in Liberia), the Clinton Health Access Initiative (Malawi’s National HIV/TB plan), Tax and Revenue Forecasting (Liberia) and Economist for the Government of Peru. She has held consulting positions funded by the Global Fund, The Melinda Gates Foundation.

Alexandra is originally from Peru and has lived and worked in West Africa, Southern Africa, Latin America, and East Europe. She holds a Master of Development Economics (advanced) from the University of Queensland, Department of Economics, Australia, and a Bachelor’s in Engineering of Economics and Business from the Universidad Cientifca del Sur in Peru (honours).

Research

Overview

Alexandra is interested in research that links wealth creation, productivity, and global health policies. In particular, she is doing research that interlinks applied microeconomics, universal healthcare insurance provision, and health and labour outcomes.
